Human design vs the Akashic Records.
The short answer: human design is a map, calculated once from your birth. The Akashic Records are a field, a living archive of your soul, read in real time. The chart does not change. The conversation does.

Human design is calculated once from your birth date, time, and place, and describes how your energy is built to move. The Records meet you where you are now.
I channel the Records. I am not a human design analyst, and this is not a takedown of a system many of my clients live by. It is the comparison I wish existed, written from the seam where I actually work: founders holding a chart in one hand and a question in the other.
A map is not a conversation.
Feel the difference in your hands. A map is printed once. You unfold the same paper at every crossroads, and the skill is learning to read it more deeply: this is my terrain, this is how I am built to cross it. That is human design. The chart drawn at your birth does not change; your experiment with it does.
A conversation is alive. You arrive with what you are actually carrying today, and what comes back is specific to this season, this decision, this threshold. Ask the same question a year from now and the answer has moved, since you have. That is the Records.
Neither is superior. They are different instruments, and the deeper agreement matters more than the difference: both systems return authority to you. Human design says follow your own strategy and authority, not the crowd. The Records return your own knowing, in a form you can hear. Two doors, same sovereignty.
The two systems, plainly.
A calculated chart: your bodygraph, fixed at birth.
A living field: the archive of your soul, read in real time.
Synthesized by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 from the I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, and the chakra system.
Older lineages: Vedic teaching, the theosophists, Edgar Cayce, and the channels who followed.
Birth date, time, and place generate the chart. Anyone can run it.
Opened through practice or a channel. Read, not calculated.
How your energy is built to move: type, strategy, authority.
What this season is teaching, what is ready to release, what the next right step is.
The chart is fixed. Your experiment with it deepens.
The Records meet you where you are. Every reading is different, and so are you.
In your design: follow your strategy and authority.
In you: the Records return your own knowing. A channel is a mirror, not a source.
The chart shows how you move. The Records show what is yours to move on.
Here is what the seam looks like in practice. A founder who knows her design as a Projector has a real mechanic in hand: her energy is built for guiding, not grinding, and forcing output is how she burns down. The chart told her that. What the chart cannot tell her is which invitation in front of her is the aligned one, or what is underneath her urge to force right now, this quarter, with this offer.
That is where the Records pick up. We open them and ask the live questions: what is this pattern teaching, what is this offer becoming, what is the next right step. The map gave her the how. The conversation gives her the what and the why, current as of today.
So if you love your chart, keep it. Bring it, and bring the question it cannot answer. That question is usually the reading.
Asked, answered.
What is the main difference between human design and the Akashic Records?
Human design is a map: a chart calculated once from your birth date, time, and place, describing how your energy is built to move. The Akashic Records are a field: a living archive of your soul, read in real time, that meets you where you are now. The chart does not change. The conversation does.
Are human design and the Akashic Records compatible?
Yes, and they cover different ground. Human design describes your mechanics: type, strategy, authority. The Records speak to your moment: what a pattern is teaching, what is ready to release, what the next right step is. The chart for how you are built to move, the Records for what is yours to move on.
Which should I start with, human design or an Akashic reading?
Start with the question you are actually holding. A how question about your energy, decisions, and burnout patterns: the chart is a strong mirror. A what or why question, what is this season teaching me, what is underneath this decision: that is Records territory. Let the question choose the instrument.
Does an Akashic reading use my birth chart or human design type?
No. A reading is not calculated from birth data. The Records are opened and read live, and what comes through is specific to your current season. Your human design type never enters the reading unless you bring it as a question, which you are welcome to do.
Is human design part of the Akashic Records?
They are separate systems with separate origins. Human design was synthesized by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 from the I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, and the chakra system. The Records come through older lineages, from Vedic teaching to Edgar Cayce. Some practitioners weave them together, but neither contains the other. The full guide to the Records is here.
Bring the chart. Bring the question it cannot answer.
If you are holding one of those questions now, the 44 questions will help you shape it, and the readings are where we open it together. The letters below are where I write in between.
